The water conservation committee has been especially set up this year in line with Rotary International's theme of sustainability with a focus on water conservation.

The Rotary Club of Hampton undertook a significant water conservation project in conjunction with the Hampton Primary school during 2004-05 and completed this extremely successful project.

This project involved the creation of partnerships with the local school, local government and state government. The project received substantial grant funds through various sources which enabled the successful completion of the project which raised the community awareness of Rotary.

To view details on this project seek the Hamptons WEB site

Clubs wanting to draw on this experience and manage a project of this nature can contact the district water conservation committee for advice. The Committee Chair, Lance Blackley from the Rotary Club of Hampton has a professional history in Hydraulic Engineering Services and can assist with the overall details of a proposed water conservation project and can advise on possible funding and grants that are available.

Lance is also available to visit your Club and elaborate on the project undertaken by Hampton and outline the steps needed to ensure success of your project.
