International Projects

Rotary Clubs in District 9810 develop significant global projects – both their own projects and working with carefully selected partners.

Here are a couple of international projects from clubs in our district:

Rotary Club of Box Hill Central‘s Operation Cleft – a simply amazing humanitarian project that has provided over 10,000 cleft lip and cleft palate operations in Bangladesh since commencing in 2005.
Typically, about 1,000 operations are performed each year, depending on funding and the prevailing circumstances in Bangladesh.
The project was started by Rotarian Colin Macfarlane AM and is now operated as an independent foundation with its own board of management, widely supported by individuals and Rotary clubs around Australia and overseas.

Art Building Children’s Dreams is an International Project of the Rotary Club of Templestowe, which provides scholarships, bursaries and prizes to children in developing nations to assist with their education, and to increase the public’s understanding and appreciation of the arts from children in developing nations through presentations, seminars and fundraising events.
